Inferret Limited develops state-of-the-art technology in the areas of text and speech processing. In particular, Inferret is focused on the areas of automatic question answering, speech recognition, and text processing and text normalization software.

The company has its own proprietary speech recognition and text processing tools which are available for both research and commercial licensing. Inferret's automatic question answering software is used on the askEd! demonstration site where it is used to demonstrate the answering of so-called open-domain factoid questions.
